I had the option to use the Photoshop that's on my laptop, but couldn't be bothered dragging it out of my case. I have not seen the African Queen. Michael’s reset preferences instructions for Photoshop worked so I’m back in business on that computer. I had the option to use the Photoshop that’s on my laptop, but couldn’t be bothered dragging it out of my case.

Try this: Hold down Alt, Ctrl, and Shift keys (Mac: Command, Option, Shift) while starting Photoshop. A dialog box will appear asking if you wish to delete the preferences file. Say yes. There are a lot of things I don't know how to do in Photoshop, but cropping isn't one of them. No matter what tool I select I only get the Hand Tool for moving the image around the screen.
