There is an open source program out (GPL) called iRoc.
You can get it from the "App Store" on the itouch or
iphone.
Here is a link for more info. http://wiki.rocrail.net/doku.php?id=iroc-gen-en
Not sure if it works with JMRI but I hope so. I am building
a NanoX-S88 system with GenLi booster. I hope to have some
trains running by the spring.

Hmmm... looks interesting. It warrants some investigation when I get some time. I really have to do some maintenance on the layout.

Thanks for the link! Good luck with your project!

Great to read your updates, Scott. Good to see the crew growing, and the "throttle" sounds beyond my technical ability, but it sounds interesting.

It's really not that complicated. Do you have your NCE system connected to your computer to program decoders? Using DecoderPro?

I will bring it when we visit next month to show you what it looks like.

Hmmm, maybe a good reason to fork out the dough for an iPhone. Somehow I am not sure Gina will agree.

Cheers

Ed

The choices are iPhone or iPod Touch. The iPhone is the gift that keeps on billing. The Touch is less "connected" but basically free usage. So I chose the iPod.

Scott

What happens when you get a phone call or an email?

Doug

The iPod just makes a noise. It's up to you whether you want to answer the call or read the email. I was listening to Ozzy (Crazy Train) and watching TV while operating at Derwin's last evening. Then I realized I was falling behind and got back to business. HA!
